At Brevard Prosthetics & Orthotics, Inc., we understand that children have special needs. That’s why we do our utmost to design pediatric prosthetics and orthotics that allow a child to be a child – to run, play, and explore. We also take extra care to ensure your child gets the individualized care they deserve, and try our best to make them feel at ease during their appointment.

PEDIATRIC AFO’s
An ankle foot orthosis (AFO) is designed to treat foot and ankle disorders in children. Common conditions that are treated with AFOs include:
- Spina Bifida
- Muscular Dystrophy (MD)
- Cerebral Palsy (CP)
- physical deformity
- genetic/neurological disorders
SCOLIOSIS BRACING
Scoliosis is a term used to describe any abnormal, sideways curvature of the spine. Idiopathic scoliosis is by far the most common cause of scoliosis in children.
The primary goal of orthotic treatment for idiopathic scoliosis is to stop the progression of the spinal curve.
FRACTURE BRACING
Fracture bracing is effective in the management of selected fractures of the tibia, humerus, and ulna, particularly low-energy injuries.
UCBL ORTHOTICS
The UCBL foot orthosis is used to stabilize a flexible foot deformity, which in most cases is a flexible flat foot. The UCBL fully encompasses the heel with a molded heel cup that holds the heel in a neutral, vertical position.
PEDIATRIC PROSTHETICS
- Upper and lower limb/extremity prosthetics
- Specialized prosthetic adaptive or activity-specific prosthetic devices, such as a swimming or running foot.
